Teaching Artists

Andréa Agosto
Andréa Agosto (She/They) is a performing arts educator and performer, and is excited to be a Teaching Artist at La Jolla Playhouse. Agosto attended UMKC where she studied film and theatre. For her graduate studies, she looked towards language, literacy, and sociocultural studies. She believes the marriage of her arts and sociocultural studies has informed how she views the arts, as well as how she discusses the two which is evident in the Intersectionality and Justice panels she facilitated for Diversionary. She aims to continue exploring these issues, and advocating for LGBTQ BIPOC artists.

Wilfred Paloma is a San Diego based teaching artist, actor, director & choreographer. In addition to La Jolla Playhouse Education programs, he works with other local Arts organizations: Arts for Learning, Diversionary Theatre, Blindspot Collective, Scripps Theatre Arts, and San Diego Junior Theatre among others. Wilfred also teaches acting and dance/movement at his private performing arts studio. Directing credits include School of Rock (SDJT) and Uplifting Your Voice (Scripps Theatre Arts). Choreographer credits include The Hunchback of Notre Dame (SDJT) and R+J (San Diego State University). He was recently appointed Director of Learning and Artistic Programs of Scripps Theatre Arts.
